Who Are We?
 

Talent Education School of Southern Illinois (TESSI) was founded in 2005 by Alyce Ward (piano), Joyce Nelson (violin), and David Stoecker (guitar), in an effort to provide the Southern Illinois area with a quality musical education option for children and adults that puts the needs and well-being of students first.

At TESSI our focus is always to maintain a fun and positive musical learning environment for all students, and to provide parents with the help they need to build a productive home learning environment as well.

All of our teachers hold college degrees in music and have had extensive Suzuki teacher-training. All faculty are registered members of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and are active in ongoing training, study and research into Suzuki and other music teaching methods.

Youth Music is our specialty, so you can be assured that our faculty have the patience, skills and training to work with your child’s unique personality and learning style.

Our mission is to establish long-term relationships with our students and families and to provide a stable learning environment to ensure the success of every student.
